12:03 AM - 2007 season comes to an end! (posted by Webmaster)
The 2007 season of the Des Moines Renaissance Faire has concluded. Thank you to all the thousands of visitors that travelled across the state (or further) or just across town to join us in our second year in the new permanent Festival Park.

If you visited any of the seven days this year, please consider taking a moment to fill out the 2007 Feedback Form (see the bottom link in the scroll menu on the left of this page). Your comments about what you liked, what you missed, and what you'd like to see in future years will help shape the growth and direction of this event.

If you took any photos at the event that you think are really good and worth sharing, please consider sending us a copy. We're always looking for images to use on this website, or perhaps in future promotional materials.

And, lastly, if you need to get in touch with any of our merchants during off season, feel free to contact us and we'll try to get you in touch.

10:13 PM - Let the fun and flirting begin! (posted by Webmaster)
This is the final weekend of the 2007 Des Moines Renaissance Faire, and we're ending the season with "Wine, Romance and Revelry!" Bring a date (or make a new friend) during a weekend that will hopefully be far romantic than the past two! The Summerset Wine Garden will be pouring glasses of their Iowa wines and mead (two types of honey based wine) as well as doing a grape stomping demonstration (fun to watch!). The Tavern Wenches of Canterbury are also rumors to be up to something.

Please come join us if you can!

7:36 PM - More testimonials added. (posted by Webmaster)
Some more Testimonials have been added, some of which came from visitors that were also able to provide some very detailed and constructive comments on what they'd suggest the festival do for future years. A big thank you again to everyone who has taken time to send in feedback!

The festival owners are looking in to planting more trees, adding grass and many other things that have been directly brought up through visitor feedback this season. With your continued suggestions and support, the event can continue to grow and evolve! Huzzah!

6:08 PM - Comment forms available for Weekend 2! (posted by Webmaster)
Alright, folks. It's time to have your say in the future of Festival Park and the Des Moines Renaissance Faire! Feedback forms for weekend 2 are now available for you to fill out. Thanks in advance for taking time to let us know the elements of the faire that worked for you, and what items you'd like to see added in the future!

Thanks to everyone who has submitted comments so far! The feedback this year has been outstanding (well, 99.5% of it has, at least, been outstanding; the rest gives the event organizers something to shoot for next year). Some more excerpts have been added to our Testimonials page.

Although there may still be some last minute changes, you can take a sneak peak at this weekend's entertainment grid by clicking here.

8:10 PM - First comment of the season. (posted by Webmaster)
Dances With Children
A big thank you to Grant for taking time to send in a comment about his opening day experience at the Des Moines Renaissance Faire:

"Today we attended the Faire in Des Moines for the first time and it was great fun. One of your Fairies danced with my little daughter, Brynn and she has been jabbering about it all evening. I don't know if you can get a picture to the girl, but will send one I took. She made a little girl's day."

Also thanks to "Firemoon" (our faery in red and orange) for helping make a magical moment.

11:13 PM - Day one complete! Six more to come... (posted by Webmaster)
The first day of the 2007 Des Moines Renaissance Faire has come and gone, with six more days of family fun left. The Faire continues to operate this weekend (Sunday and Memorial Day Monday), and the weather looks like it will be beautiful (unlike last year).

The two level "tree house," dedicated to the memory of our fallen friend, King Oberon (Brad Nelson), was completed and open today thanks to a hard working construction crew that worked through the night using worklights and, probably, coffee.

About half of the new merchant shops were open with the new "Secrets of Queen Victoria" renaissance lingerie shop (i.e. bloomers and other such garments) opening tomorrow.

We'll have new feedback/comment forms up and running shortly, and we'd love to hear your suggestions on what you liked during your visit. Check this site during the week for more news and details.
