Sleepy Hollow Sports Park, where Festival Park (home of the Des Moines Renaissance Faire) is located, has launched a new website dealing with some of the "unusual" races they host (such as the Run of the Living Dead, which was a 5K marathon all over property -- including through the Renaissance park -- with ZOMBIES). This Christmas season, Sleepy Hollow Sports Park has a temporary store inside Valley West Mall (Des Moines) upstairs near the Younker's entrance. There is a small display dedicated to the Des Moines Renaissance Faire there. Stop by and say hi. (There is also a slide show running on a TV set nearby, showing a montage of photos from the 2011 season.)

1:26 PM - DMRF announces new Entertainment Coordinator (posted by Webmaster)
The management team of Festivals International and the Des Moines Renaissance Faire have selected Lynne Melssen, our Community Relations Director, to also take on the duties of Entertainment Coordinator. Lynne will be responsible for booking the entertainment for all three weekends of the 2012 Des Moines Renaissance Faire. Stage and lane acts wishing to be a part of next year's festival should contact Lynne and arrange for an audition - either in person or via DVD.
